blogs everyday, sometimes after midnight but you can find a blog post
everyday, they are numbered and he has been bogging for more than
2000 days without break. This quality of him is a silent factor in
his success (and probably in most successful people's career) that
often goes unnoticed in his massively talented personality.

Here
are some not-so-creative ideas…

AVOID
DOUBTS AND TEMPTATION TO GIVE-UP:
Stay away from any self-doubts or people who add fuel to your
fire of self-doubt. There sure are going to be weak moments and you
want to give-up working any more but stop, think about end result
and learn to conquer those weak moments.

KEEP
A VICTORY JOURNAL:
Log your achievements in this journal, no matter how trivial the
victory seems. Write down what obstacle you faced along the road to
success and how you overcame them. Reviewing this journal will work
as energizer and confidence builder, reminding you of your
capability to carry-on.

I
got this brilliant idea from this
post

EVEN
BABY STEPS ARE BETTER THAN STANDING STILL: Fixing
your 5 year or 10 year goal is no doubt important but working daily
on it is even more important. Take some time out from your daily
routine and decide what one activity you are going to do tomorrow
that will be a step forward towards your goal also review the day
that has past to verify if you actually did any such productive
task.

BE
CREATIVE TO KEEP BOREDOM AT BAY: Novelty
interests adults and children alike, it keeps life fresh. Depending
on your goal, road to achieve it is going to be long and after
initial excitement, boredom will start to peek in. Boredom might
prompt you to pursue seemingly more exciting idea but be focused and
create new ways to keep interest in current project. Monotonousness
is an interest killer, so try to find ways to keep your excitement
intact.

HAVE
FAITH:
Develop a vision of what you want to achieve or what you want to be
destination (can be anything… weight loss, career achievement or
any personal goal). Have strong faith in whatever you are planning
to undertake. Have faith that you are going to reach there.
Visualize yourself at your destination, which will give you strength
to carry on.

Indian politics has found its new
love, love for social media. Parties are going gung-ho about adding digital
component to their 2014 election campaigning and overall strategy. While some
are making initial strides, some have already crafted their digital marketing
strategy.

Reaching out to potential voters
through digital medium is not a completely new phenomena, in USA parties are
using it for more than 10 years now but this medium really came into limelight
for political branding use after much quoted and successful Obama presidential
campaign. After Obama won 2nd term in white house there has been lot
of discussion around and about his digital marketing team.

Although in India, most
politicians are still getting introduced to this new trend, there definitely
are some notable early adopters of technology. From congress’s Shashi Tharoor
and Milind Deora to BJP’s Narendra Modi, Arun Jaitely and recently Arvind
Kejriwal of AAP.

Narendra Modi, the prime
ministerial candidate of BJP, is arguably the first political person to realize
power and role of social media in political branding and leveraged this wisdom
to project himself as the face of developing India. He is also leading his party in the same way. BJP has crafted
digital strategy and has employed some brilliant people in digital marketing
industry to campaign for upcoming 2014 elections.

Congress, although a slow
adopter, also don’t want to left behind and is conducting crash courses in
social media for its leaders and volunteers to catch up with its rival. Aam
Adami Party chief, Arvind kejriwal has more than 1 million followers on
Twitter.

All parties are setting aside a
portion of their election budgets and time to connect to potential voters via
websites, Facebook pages, twitter, Google hanouts and various mobile Apps.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">I think this piece is like just scratching surface of
a much deeper layer, there is a lot more going on and all that, of course has
it’s own pres and cons. All that remains to be noticed.

Here ends my most awaited and
loved Holidays. Holidays are like dessert for me, no matter how many
I have, I still crave for them ;)

So I, obviously, am sad that
holidays came to an end but I am also glad that I utilized this time to
fullest. These days were spent vacationing with my family and friends, an
exiting trip to spectacular Catalina Island followed by a get-together and
potluck with friends in a big regional park. What a great fun it all was!

I can't believe one more year has come to an end. Although
it has been a year full of events, it seems like it went by too fast. This
calendar transition period is always filled with lots of retrospection about
good and not-so-good events of last year, lessons learned, new memories made,
hopes and resolutions and plans for upcoming year. Also, there is an
irresistible desire to peek into future and see what coming year holds for me,
my family, everyone around and associated with me. I think I am not alone in
this wish to know future; it's just human nature, I guess.

As always, I have kick-started New Year with some
resolutions, some career related and some personal. I don't want to put them
here yet as they are still very vague, I need to properly out-line them in
order to be clear what I want from this year. (Also, I am scared that it will
be embarrassing if can't abide by any of them). One of them is reviving this
blog, let's see if that happens.

So, with all these feelings and thoughts, let me bid goodbye
to the year that has gone-by and greet New Year with a wish for the best!

Happy New Beginning!

In India, You are not entitled to glory if you are not a Cricketer. Here a cricketer of half the caliber may earn more money and fame than any other sport person just because people worship Cricket while refuse to acknowledge presence of other sports. For instance, Viswanathan Anand has been world number one in chess for many years and has shown exceptional games like his contemporary Sachin Tendulkar does in Cricket but while a common Indian may regard Sachin as God but may even not be aware who Viswanathan Anand is.

Nevertheless, I hope at the end of the day all this euphoria around 2011 Cricket World Cup proves fruitful and India wins highest title of its much-revered game, Cricket, after drought of 27 years ends this time.

His life graph has always moved in upward (progressive) direction, with frequent promotions at company until he was struck hard by life. Suddenly his well-organized, “complete” life falls apart and at times he struggles even to make ends meet. But out of blue comes a hope in form of Starbucks and starts a new phase of his life at the ripe age of sixties. This autobiography is a tale of a reputed company’s top creative director’s new “Avatar” as a Starbucks partner; his struggle to forget his past and getting adjusted in new life, with new kind of people, new environment and work culture, changing social life and most importantly new JOB PROFILE.

I had read about this book on a blog and instantly conceived it to be an appealing book (Although now I think I overestimated to some extent). After reading about it wanted to get a copy of this book so badly and wanted to finish it ASAP :). Michael Gates Gill is not a professional writer, as some someone can perceive, but has done a fairly good job with words and has managed to narrate episodes in free flowing manner. Book is an easy read, incidents are narrated as it happened. Gill lapses into past sometimes but it barely looks irrelevant to me. Most importantly, what I liked about the book is that it’s full of positive thinking, a particular type that one needs in times of crisis. I liked the way Michael Gill took the opportunity so positively and tried to make the best out of one chance (and possibly the last chance) he got from life amidst the entire crisis.

Only thing that bothered me was more than necessary words of appreciation for “Starbucks”, I mean it’s obvious to feel gratitude towards something that helped save your but over sweetness is bad for health and you know what I mean, right? ;)

But overall you can grab the book and feel good when you are struggling with blue kind of mood and want to read something light yet encouraging.

Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-86819832749282714582011-02-23T14:26:00.000-08:002011-02-23T17:29:50.572-08:00YAY !!!

“I'm glad I did it, partly because it was worth it, but mostly because I shall never have to do it again” - Mark Twain

This is exactly my feeling when I passed the written exam for driver’s license (Sadly, behind the wheels test yet to go).

This is a story of three unlikely friends and a day in their life. Fyokla, Danilka and Terenty are a trio out of which 2 friends far younger (almost children) than the third friend. The day for these three unfortunates (Although, fortunate enough to have each other!) starts with a trouble and as the day progresses they also sail with the day; overcoming little adversities, observing wonders of nature, sharing their experiences and moments together.

Story is so simple and fluid and yet recited with wonderful effectiveness to hold one’s interest. I specially loved the parts where detailed descriptions of nature and country provinces are given. I almost feel that I am living that part; experiencing rain and magical changes in nature.

I liked the story for its gentleness in writing, warmth of relations and beautiful descriptions of Nature.

Well, I read this short, but warm and affectionate story “The Darling “ written by 18th Century Russian Anton Chekhov. I found “The Darling” on a very fabulous website treasure called “Classic Shorts” (This website, in real sense, is a treasure of classic short stories from various authors)

“The Darling” is a story (set in era of 18th century) of a Russian lady called Olenka. As the title suggests Olenka was such endearing person that people called her ‘Darling’. She was made to love and to be loved, Love was driving force behind her existence. Story gives you trip of Olenka’s affection towards her relationships and how love drives her life through years; her 2 marriages and 3rd love affair, her loneliness and bare life after their departure of them and finally rejuvenation of her interest in life.

I was almost glued to the story once I started it and finished it just about breathlessly. Later browsing Internet to know more about “The Darling”, I came to know that this short story is a well-celebrated work of its Russian writer Anton Chekhov.

I absolutely adored reading it for warmth of emotions in story and it’s simplicity.

******************************************************************************

A Point to Ponder

Although I loved the story and completely understand and agree to its message of importance of love and relations in our life, what I could not relate to is, loneliness or say loss or distance from your loved ones will make you a numb person. As the story says Olenka’s whole existence rested on the pillars, her love interests (3 men she loved) and that was what defined her persona, her opinions, beliefs, views and expressions in life. When her destiny led her to live without them she was a person of emptiness without opinions, interests or feelings.

OK now …I know how parting from loved ones pains the heart and makes you feel wretched but you don’t stop living, you don’t become empty and stop being a person you have been all your life like Olenka. That’s possibly because Olenka never had never been herself, she always molded herself into mold of her better half and when the mold defining her was gone she was left with no shape.

But I think that’s my view and most possibly ONLY mine :)

* Story is available hereRuchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-1884479905282592132011-02-04T20:50:00.000-08:002011-02-04T21:20:04.266-08:00Wonderful WordsBHOOL GAYE HAIN KI JOOTE KAHAN UTAARE THE.....

Chhoti-chhoti chhitrayi yaadein
Bichhi hui hain lamhon ki lawn par<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0VQw9_pnU6awNbRsZxlNZxGtFkBydou526EVDfTri_b4VH-9RkdUZNyAC5PQ_JwK5xXVK2KoYL4iADOUeTH5apmGb-6BQSloq6kWPbJOi_4uyACVr_ikn87_7abBWK-xsyrD5yddLwmA/s320/BAREFOOT.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5570070062817702402" />
Nange pair unpar chalte-chalte
Itni door chale aaye
Ki ab bhool gaye hain ki
Joote kahan utaare the.
Aedi komal thi, jab aaye the.
Thodi si naazuk hai abhi bhi.
Aur nazuk hi rahegi
In khatti-meethi yaadon ki shararat
Jab tak inhe gudgudati rahe.
Sach, bhool gaye hain
Ki joote kahan utaare the.
Par lagta hai,
Ab unki zaroorat nahin.

MOVIE: UDAAN 2010
Image SourceRuchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-45991006393930158752011-02-01T13:39:00.000-08:002011-02-01T14:00:18.373-08:00At First Sight by Nicholas Spark: My Take<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 131px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBGWPH-Wx_G20rQ6IheRCLPAUxC9QP3G4Ji6oy_mtyvQFdIJu131IE9_9IgOiOxe2xn8kg4bgGyAwE27N_W6LsI0Ckt_oqYRriyk1nUgA8RIix82kxE0C1-2UcQQ_AUqcLi9dorNIQ7Ng/s200/at+first+sight.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568843589925355490" />
Plot of Book

This is story about true and everlasting love, which starts just at first sight and embrace you for rest of your life .At first sight starts at the point where two people had already fell in love and their life journey onwards. Jeremy and Lexie two center characters are in love with each other from the very first week they met and decide to tie a knot committing to spend their entire life with each other, feeling obsessed by their not-so-old love.

But as story unfolds you will find whether their love at first sight is strong enough to hold them together in various phases of life that often is like roller-coaster ride. Will this miraculous initial feeling of Love will always triumph over their experience of jealousy, pain, uncertainties and stress?

My take on book

Story has that typical Nicholas Spark feel and is written in simple and lucid language. I wouldn’t say book is a catch as although book has moments where I was carried away by emotions in writing but at other points I found myself yawning and has to resist urge to skip some pages.

I am not a great Nicholas Spark fan and if I compare my this book to my only other Spark read “ A walk to remember” I would definitely like to go for At First Sight, it being more mature and realistic than the other one.

So overall a feel good, comfy and easy read but don’t expect anything exceptional.Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-16876179335134209412011-01-27T21:36:00.000-08:002011-01-27T21:52:56.581-08:00WordsI have always loved Quotes, One liners or even dialogues where few words make a whole lot difference. I remember reading this book while ago and liking it so much (Although not as much as Jonathan Livingston - A seagull by same author). But I remember I liked it quite a bit and sadly I couldn't recollect plot of book except some really good lines when I read the blog.

I think I will have to start reading it all over again (provided I get time and copy of book) to relive that memory.Hmmm....Sounds good :)Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-57726635193770677792010-05-11T22:21:00.000-07:002010-05-11T22:26:53.100-07:00Brink Of Eternity by TagoreI have come to the brink of eternity from which nothing can vanish
---no hope, no happiness, no vision of a face seen through tears.

Oh, dip my emptied life into that ocean,
plunge it into the deepest fullness.
Let me for once feel that lost sweet touch
in the allness of the universe.Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-4124536571724788892009-12-31T02:50:00.000-08:002009-12-31T03:46:19.233-08:00From Devdas to Dev DWhile browsing through various sites/blogs randomly, I came across this piece of writing on the blog of Mindscape, analyzing and comparing two era through one classic DEVDAS.

Initially I thought of including whole article in my blog but then included summery part only that is crux of the article. Also including link of original article at the end whosoever is interested in reading more :-)

From Devdas to Dev D

Sarat Chandra’s classic novel Devdas, written in 1917, has been done many times in Indian cinema, about 11 times in all but none with such a different perspective as by Anurag Kashyap, maker of Dev D.

The vision of telling this classic love story blended with contemporary times and similarities with the MMS scandal and BMW case strikes familiarity and is more in line with the current social and cultural values.

Devdas is shown to be a soft and gentle person but exhibits irrational behaviour in fits of rage. I find that this trait of Devdas will resonate with the sentiments of several youngsters whose anger has become displaced.

We resent the choices and decisions that are made for us and like Devdas, we also rebel silently, from within. But not many of us have the courage to question openly and gain the freedom to make our own choices and decisions. Like Devdas, we too build up anger within ourselves and prefer to go on a self destruction spree than direct it in some constructive way. We crib and we complain but do nothing. We talk about freedom and independence in our society, but where will this freedom and independence come from when we are still chained in our minds by values we dissociate from but still cannot break away from?

Today’s youth are angst-ridden youngsters hungry for revolution. But feel incapable of carrying out the revolution themselves because they are used to being in their ‘comfort zone’. (and who wants to walk out of comfort?!?!) Instead, they focus hard on enjoying themselves (just like Devdas who wanted to drown his miseries in alcohol). But how successful are we in trying to run away from our real problems? When the morning comes and hangover dies down, the problems still remain.

Devdas was a victim – a victim of his own anger, a victim who kept punishing himself and a victim of his own helplessness to bring about a positive turn to his life.

We could continue to be Devdas‘es’ as in the previous adaptations and wallow in self-pity or we could be like Dev in the modern version, find a way out of our sorrows and grab the opportunity that life presents us.

In this version the opportunity at a second life was presented not only to Dev but also Chanda and they both made good of it as they both lived happily ever after.

And who knows, with how the times are changing we might just see our ‘Dev’ finding love in the arms of ‘Chunni’ in the next version of this celebrated love story of DEVDAS.

Link to original publication site: http://blogindiamindscape.wordpress.com/2009/05/25/from-devdas-to-dev-d/Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-4382161315549638402009-10-07T10:47:00.000-07:002009-10-07T11:03:39.295-07:00Illustration of Power of DiplomacyFollowing is best example of power of diplomatic speech, which changed entire scene of political environment after Julius Caesar's assassination. Brutus, first cousin of caeser and main schemer in the conspiracy of Caesar's assassination lost Roman throne due these few words of great diplomacy. This speech by Mark Antony is considered as one of the best speeches of the history turned all cards in favor of him and lead him to Roman throne. And the famous speech goes as follows.....

Mark Antony:
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interred with their bones,
So let it be with Caesar ... The noble Brutus
Hath told you Caesar was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Caesar answered it ...
Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest,
(For Brutus is an honourable man;
So are they all; all honourable men)
Come I to speak in Caesar's funeral ...
He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honourable man….
He hath brought many captives home to Rome,
Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill:
Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?
When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honourable man.
You all did see that on the Lupercal
I thrice presented him a kingly crown,
Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.
I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then to mourn for him?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason…. Bear with me;
My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar,
And I must pause till it come back to me.Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-18862068880357978762009-08-14T01:53:00.000-07:002009-08-14T02:21:57.299-07:00Favourites from New Gen.Movie: Kaminey

1. Each poem magnifies an emotion, a feeling and is so aptly interwoven into words that it feels like you are living that emotion; that story is yours; you are the character or emotion being talked about.

Human beings are most complex creatures when it comes to emotions and RBT's poems aptly exemplify all those emotions. It makes you assume diverse role as is narrated in the poem. Whenever I read his poems, I feel transition of time. Almost forget where or who I am and got lost in that world created by words.

Some of my personal favorites are ; A moment's indulgence, Let me not forget, Little of me, Brink of Eternity, Lost star and your questioning eyes, Are you a mere picture

Although I have always loved reading, I never considered poems can be my interest and that too verses by such a world-class poet always seemed a distant possibility. I always doubted whether I will be able to absorb these verses, it was only after I read one of his poetry in a friends' blog, I started getting crazy about them. Although I have just started exploring this beautiful world; wish could lose my breath in this deep ocean.

The journey continues......Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3927446900003584797.post-92093613164249361972009-05-22T23:40:00.000-07:002009-05-23T00:00:56.642-07:00Little of Me
Fantastic poem by a fantastic writer; Tagore

Little of Me

Let only that little be left of me

whereby I may name thee my all.

Let only that little be left of my will

whereby I may feel thee on every side,

and come to thee in everything,

and offer to thee my love every moment.

Let only that little be left of me

whereby I may never hide thee.

Let only that little of my fetters be left

whereby I am bound with thy will,

and thy purpose is carried out in my life---and that is the fetter of thy love.
Ruchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16694731032054268277noreply@blogger.com0
